Mark Loughney is a painter and draftsman whose work moves between portraiture, surreal forms, and dark humor. He began building his practice while incarcerated, developing a distinct visual language shaped by time, constraint, and observation. His work has since been exhibited at institutions including MoMA PS1 and the Schomburg Center, and featured in publications such as The New Yorker and Artforum.
